hi, just wondering if this is how i calculate my marks for legal studies:

Task 1 - 20/20 or 100% (weight 10%)
Task 2 - 42/50 or 84% (weight 25%)
Task 3 - 24/25 or 96% (weight 20%)
Task 4 - 20/20 or 100% (weight 20%)
Task 5 - 75/100 or 75% (weight 25%)

1. 10% of 100 = 10
2. 25% of 84 = 21
3. 20% of 96 = 19.2
4. 20% of 100 = 20
5. 25% of 75 = 18.75
-----------------------------
add up = 88.95% (rounds up to 89%)

wat do u mean, his marks r a pass?
Dont be a junior - dont think that 50 is a pass.

Anything below 80 is disappointing really. (but then again, it depends on ur standards and expectations, so eveyone is different)

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat i think anything below 99.95 is stupid and dumb, if u get below 99.95 it just shows that ur nothing and that u r a failer n ur gonna get nowhere in life.

A good way to treat it is that, your marks reflect how much time you actually benefited doing the course.

Eg. 100 hours 2 unit course, if you get 50%, basically a person who attended only HALF the classes could have done what you did.

Another way is, to consider it like a living creature, say your body. 98% may seem like a good mark, but if you only had 98% of your body intact, you would not want to be alive.

Below 80 isn't a 'fail' ... I can see why some people would aim high but for others, 70 is quite good

also relies on how the level the test was set at, and the difficulty of the course itself. 75% in some subjects is average, but in other's it's pretty damn good. Some teachers set tests that should have a class average of around 80%, some 50%
