You mean a mark of 75 out of 100? No offense, if you're aiming for that, why are you doing 4U? =\

Could be wrong here, but it probably won't be better than a Band 6 in a subject you might actually do well in.
Using the ATAR Calculator from Matrix: http://www.matrixeducation.com.au/umax/umax.html (which I think may be slightly better than SAM, although who am I to comment :p... I just like how it shows the correlation between marks and scaling etc.)

I used similar scaling subjects with a HSC mark of 90/100 (i.e. a band 6... just). The mark next to each of the subjects is the scaled aggregate mark/50:

English Advanced - 42.1
Chemistry
- 42.0
Physics
- 43.1
Economics
- 41.1

Now, for Mathematics Extension 2 I used a HSC mark of 75/100 and returned a scaled aggregate mark of:

42.0 flat. Unfair scaling... of course ;)

So a 75 as a HSC mark should effectively get you a similar ATAR contribution as a low band 6 in the subjects listed. Since these 4 subjects I chose are basically the highest scaled commonly chosen subjects, I'd say a 75 in MX2 > 90-92 in almost any other subject in regard to scaled aggregate value.

Also imo considerably easier to get 75 in MX2 than a 90 in bio lol

mx2 is the easiest subject to get a band 6 in tbh.

knock out Q's 1-6 (usually generic questions anyway) and its usually a band 6 ay?

wat would 100/120 give you as the aligned HSC mark? 95/100?

Does generic questions mean just the 4U work, not harder 3U?

How much would a Band 6 in 2U be equivalent to in Extension 2 in terms of scaling?
90 in 2u math is equal to 72 in 4u math

a 90 in 4u is equal to a 97.5 in 2unit

source: SAM based on 2008 HSC data.
