You can't help what you find repulsive. In his case, his defence of homosexuality is something to be cheered, given he finds it personally disgusting (and you know? That's okay. )

I agree. Remember that it comes down to personal attraction as well, so it's understandable, on one level, that a straight person would find the thought of homosexual acts as repulsive, just as a homosexual person might find the thought of straight sexual acts as repulsive, simply because thinking about such acts goes against their orientation...maybe 'repulsive' is a bit strong, but you get my drift.

Hmm, but like, I don't get grossed out by two girls getting it on at all.

Or a guy and a girl.

In fact I cheer sex in all its forms (OK maybe excluding incest and bestiality)

So maybe you do have some sort of subconscious homophobia?
The answer here is very simple. I'm in the same category as you re: reaction to lesbians. Given what i know about you Yoddle, I'm assumong your thoughts are the same as mine in this, so consider the following.

1. Women are attractive
2. Sex is attractive
3. Women having sex is VERY attractive.

As to the guy and a girl, see also points 1. and 2.

Sure, it's not the best reactions to have, and though I may kick myself for seeing things so narrowly, it remains true. I have no issue with noting my own limitations.

Sorry if it sounded as if I was castigating you for being grossed out by males rooting each other (it did sound a bit like that on re-read).

I'm sorry I'm a bit daft, I don't really get what you're saying.

The point I was making was that I don't find women sexually attractive, but I don't get repulsed at all by the thought of them having sex with each other. So therefore its not totally natural get grossed out by two males having sex just because you don't find males sexually attractive.

But if you do it doesn't matter. I get grossed out by the thought of two morbidly obese people getting it on because I don't find them sexually attractive.

yoddle, you forgot necrophilia, or is that incest?

by the way, i believe sex in all forms is allowable, however as i saw in a documentary on national history or geographic, our taboos, our social constrictions are not always in the law. for example, drinking urine. these constrictions however are what exists from the past and if we can get over that, then we can truly advance as a society/civilisation.

interestingly enough, urine is sterile, is a pain reliever, relieves itching and other interesting properties. so how to save 3rd world countries from their dirty water, drink urine!:)

Yeah, I'm a bit of a neat-freak actually. My friends often comment on it.

Okay, shake your head at me all you want. I don't really want to stay up all night going back and forth with you "You're wrong", "No, you're wrong!" Just know this, I do not love your god, and, unless he suddenly and physically decends from the sky and personally introduces himself to me, I never will. Period. Don't pity me for this. I am a free spirit who can roam this earth free forever, and never feel the weight of a single sin on my back.

Believe me, my 'raging puberty' has nothing to do with it. I'll talk to you again, but you might be disappointed.
Haha, don't mind Iron, he's a loveable rogue.

Fun facts:
- 70% of Australians state religion has no importance on their life.
- Of Australians born from 1976 onwards, a strong majority are atheist or non-religious: over 60%.
- 65% of marriages in Australia these days are secular (non-religious).
- 81% of Australians think the world would be better off without religion.

It's enough to make a grown man like Iron cry.

On the contrary, we thrive on such marginalisation and persecution. Let the games begin!

The Ancient Romans, before they became raving lunatic Catholics were actually quite accepting of homosexuality. So from now on, if we refer to the persecution of homosexuals in ancient times, we shall restrict the discussion to after the installation of Christianity/Catholicism. As nuts as they probably were, they were probably a lot more accepting of differing sexuality than we are now. Just so long as you're not a eunuch. They didn't like eunuchs.

Oh ehy I misread that, we weren't even discussing the persecution of gays, but actually Christians.

In that case, carry on.

Persecution? This isn't Ancient Rome.
I agree it's much worse! Society today knows God but glorifies Him not as God, neither are they thankful; but they are vain in their imaginations and their foolish hearts are darkened.

Professing themselves to be wise, they have become fools

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man, and birds and beasts and creeping things!

So God has also given them up to filth through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves

Woe to those who change the Truth of God into a lie and worship and serve the creature more than the Creator!

Except for the fact that if you drink enough urea you'll get very, very sick.

I don't give a shit how much of a magic potion urine is, it's still urine, it's still filtered shit from your body and it's only sterile whilst it is being filtered. By the time it reaches your bladder and urinary tract, it's no longer sterile. It's certainly not sterile by the time it leaves your piss hole because your penis/vagina is a hot spot of all sorts of lovely critters.

do you think your god himself?
or are you just purely in love with him?
because either way your mind is corrupt and you have failed to see the light once again!

I imagine in 20 years time, at least in Australia, gay marriage will be fully legal under law with the same rights as a straight marriage, and the idea of homosexuality being a political issue will be looked down upon.

Agreed. In fact, a recent poll showed that 60% of Australians support gay marriage, which was a 3% rise from the last time they did it. So it can only go up from here, especially as young people have a higher rate of tolerance, and they'll be the ones making the policies. The argument the govt. has about 'Australian values' of marriage being between a man and a woman is obviously bull, as indicated by the results of the survey.

Rise in support for gay marriage
