oh my god how the fuck do you write 25 pages? D: that's crazy! what were your essay questions, if you don't mind me asking? i have no idea what type of questions our school is gonna ask us. :(

we had modern today - i think it went okay, i already know i got two 1 marker questions wrong, but hopefully won't lose much more. managed to successfully guess the extended response question, which was awesome because i didn't really study anything else on the topic. :)

haha, I don't know. it just kind of happens..
Uhm, the second question was;
Do you think that 'cultural relativism' is essential, in being able to inter-culturally communicate? Something along those lines.
and question one I can't actually remember.. haha;

Let me think, and I'll get back to you :)
Oh wait!
Prove that Socialisation may help in creating a persons identity and also their sense of self. Use Reference to Psychologist'.

I think I failed to meet my expectations in Extension 1. I finished in half the allocated time, but I know that I've already lost one mark => 99%. and then maybe another two marks => 98%. and I think five more => 95%

NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope I got 99%. Pray! Pray! Pray!

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

how many pages you write in a high school exam is not indicative of your value as a person.
lol, thats the safe thing to say yes, but when youve got some guys doing 2 pages in 2 hours, then you know theres a problem
also, to that other post, 25 pages, bit excessive dont you think?

theres a problem in that exam perhaps, people who think the HSC and school in general is everything make me want to beat my head against a brickwall.

re: Preliminary Yearlies Discussion Thread

Society & Culture peoplee -
I was just looking at some practice questions,
"Explain the effect gender roles have on communication. In your answer refer to the nature of communication in Australia and one other country" (20 Marks)

Also, "Describe the role of acculturation in changing cultural perceptions and values. In your answer, refer to cultural perceptions and values in Australia and one other country" (20 marks)

For both questions, what type of detail would you suggest to go into? I'm having trouble trying to elaborate to actually deserve 20 marks. My teacher is pretty horrible, and just constantly repeats himself with examples, rather then actual content!
Thankyou.

This is true, but then what gives them all the right to escapade a huge bitching session just because I wrote more than them and actually understood what 'cultural relativism' is?
I don't know, they're all great people, but whoever beats them they like to get angry at.
Yet they all sit in class every lesson verbalising how amazing they are at <insert subject> without study.
It just annoys me that they can only conclude five pages of writing and then put me into a position where I feel as If I've done the wrong thing in the exam.

Yeah, I agree it is a bit excessive, but it's not like I set out at the start of the exam to reach that certain quota. I just wrote what i thought was necessary to answer and heavily give evidence of knowledge to the question, not to write a horribly long essay for the sake of it.
