Kenhung123: I don't think any uni will take anyone with a UAI of 80 for direct entry, unless your aboriginal or torres strait islander. The min UAI is around 90-95ish if your rural and ~95 and up for everyone else, even with a mid 95 UAI you will still need an exceptional umat score around the top 90's-100.

JCU does not look at UMAT but you still still need 90+, Bond will still want students with over 90 UAI + a umat around the high 50- low 60 %+

I just got

S1 81
S2 77
S3 89
Percentile 100th

I did just two practice papers, so no real prep....

BUT I NO LONGER WANT TO DO MEDICINE!
At least you have your heart set on something else, I hope. Don't worry, your umat score won't really affect anyone elses chances unless you apply for med and sit the interview.

Just wondering I got a percentile of 66 :mad1: in UMAT and I already have an interview in the rural thing (UNSW). Does anyone know if they take into account UMAT in their final ranking (to determine places) or they just focus on ATAR and interview score?
THANKS
UNSW rates its general applicants on 1/3 UMAT, 1/3 interview, 1/3 final marks.

However, if you are a rural student, they also take your RRMA into account, to make the selection criteria as follows:

1/4 UMAt, 1/4 interview, 1/4 final marks, 1/4 RRMA (rural rating)

Thanks for the reply. I think my RRMA score is something epic (the bigger the better)
like 5 years @ RRMA 5, 5 years @ RRMA 6 and 1 Year @ RRMA 7.
Though my UMAT is absolute fail, I guess ill just have to try and max out ATAR and
interview score....
Wait I should be studying!

Thank God for being rural... Pretty pissed off that being rural made me unable to go to any of the prep type things though... I hate country Australia, we get such a shit deal from the governments...

Dont take this as a personal attack or anything, but your subjects listed are
4U Maths
4U English
2U Chem
2U Phys

When the UAI is calculated based on your performance, a minimum of 10 units are taken OVER 4 SUBJECTS. This means that chem and phys are essential and will DEFINITELY be counted in you best ten, even if you recieved 100 for all 8 of your other units!

So essentially 2U of your english HAS to be counted, which means basically doing well in all your extensions may not be of any great benefit
nah i'm pretty sure ur allowed to just count 3 subjects for 10 units.

need to know ur raw score. a percentile doesnt mean anything as unis dont go by that anymore. last year the cutoff was 178 raw.
