I'm saying that the sex drive for men, as influenced by sexual imagery in the media, wouldn't be as high if there was less imagery, thus decreasing the sexual motivation rape is predicated upon.
Rape isn't just a crime of sexual passion... It's a crime of Hatred as well... It is both. Alot of the time. I think rapes stems from the combination of mens sex drive (which by the way is not STRONGER, just more frequent... women seem to lose control a lot easier once turned on - particularly seeing as they have multiple states of arousal... men have one), the testosterone in their system that predicates them to anger and the ability in a lot of mens superior strength to women. Women also get a lot more emotionally out of sex (particularly with a partner) then men do...
The same situation arrives in relationships. Men tending to perform physical violence backed by emotional violence, whereas as women rely more on emotional violence.
It has little to do with the media... although the prevalence and acceptability of pornography dictating submissive women probably doesn't help... and It IS interesting to note that both men and women's magazines/media have women on the front (except of course, for Car magaz... Oh wait... they do to)... but that's all a part of the Sexual revolution of the 60s anyway. Humanity swings vastly from Prudence to decadence.
Look at the Roman Empire and it's party practices... then look at the Roman Catholic spread across Europe... then the Renaissance, full of orgies and parties... then following that the prudence of Imperialism...
Also men and women tend to have different stimuli to each other. Mens stimuli tend to be visual... women seem to get more aroused from both emotional and written Stimuli.
And how an imbalance in sexual drive stops you from believing in a god I do not know? This is opposed to the animal kingdom (particularly mammals) where the male tends to just see a female and hump it and no sexual pleasure is achieved?)

That's mainly because guys suck at the things that makes sex good... communication and empathy. Women can have multiple intense, full body orgasms in the space of minutes whereas men can't... men just tend to suck at the things that please women... most having a "just stick it in, she'll like it" mindset
