For example If i get a raw mark of 80 in the ancient history exam would that align up to a higher mark say 85?

Also do any subjects align down?

I'm confused can somebody clarify

Not for aligning.

It does for scaling.

Aligning is simply the process of determining the raw cut-offs for the Bands whereas scaling is a comparison of the ability and results of the students in all subjects.

Aligning is done by the BOS whereas scaling is done by UAC.

I don't think anything aligns down at all unless the raw exam mark is perhaps 99/100 in the actual exam (some subjects may align back to 98). For lower marks everything will go up.

This is totally different to scaling though.
