well all i know is the minimum for a 32-bit is 1gb & for 64-bit is 2gb

i think that's only lower in terms of the processor.

I have heard about people running on 512 MB of Memory, i think the reason they are saying is 1GB is because when people run it on 512 it will not run to expectations so they will not have the whole vista capable problem again.

Makes sense. I think you could most probably run 7 on 512mb, but microsoft is giving itself a "saftey margin" in terms of system requirements to avoid more public backlash like they got from vista.

I love the improvements, the old betas always fk'd up. Im planning to buy the full version soon. If i can get 400 bucks (400000000000000 in student moneys).
