English - Creative - How many stories? (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone,

Just wondering how many stories you've prepared. I have two but I feel more comfortable with my second one and I think it has a higher chance of fitting in with the question. Also, this is probably a silly question but is it important to have heaps of techniques to show your understanding or are they testing your originality and how well the story fits in with belonging? How many words should it be? Mine's around 1150, I think I'll need to cut it down though.

I only have one story, but it is quite adaptable and has around 900 words. It should be as long enough to make your story convincing, but not too long that you can't write it.

Techniques? You would have subconsciously included lots of techniques if you write well. Of course originiality would give you a higher mark but you can have a stereotypical story and get a high mark if you write well.

Thanks a lot! I wasn't sure whether it would be better to learn both just to be safe but even then, one of my prepared stories wasn't liked by the marker in the Trials so I think I'll just stick with the one too.

i get 9 in the creative

12 in the essay

12 in the short answers

16 module A

15 module B

16 module C

ill get 80/105, which i've read is high band 5-low band 6

tbh, im yet to prepare a second related text for module C and yet to write my module B essay

yay me

if i get a HSC mark of 81 for english i'm content

Up until trials I had one. Now two. I think it's important to have characters/situations which relate to belonging/not belonging and to be able to think on your feet in the exam room.

Mann...I think creative writing is my strengthh...for half yearlies and trials got 14/15 from stories i just made up on the spot haha...but then again not so strong in the essay section :angry:
