Ok so i was thinking about what other related text to do and one of them i decided on was the poem 'William Street' by Kenneth Slessor. I'm in a bit of a predicament now as I've heard rumours it is in the standard syllabus. So my first question is, is this true? I couldnt find anything on boardofstudies.com
Second question - if so, will that affect me as obviously i do advanced english and not standard because you're not supposed to use prescribed texts as other related texts?

My teacher wouldnt let me do a Standard text that tied perfectly for Conflicting Perspectives. I spoke to serveral other teachers from other schools they said 'Any text is as good as any another' In other words your allowed to.
