What is the raw mark (approximately) required to a achieve a Band 5 or 6 in the main 3 sciences (Phyiscs, Chemistry, Bio).

so in order of scaling well

chem > physics > bio

what would you get a raw mark in bio to get a band 5-6

???? Last year physics + eco scaled better than chem am i wrong??

Physics i heard was 83
Chem i would say around 85
Bio like 90 LOL.---dosn scale too well

hmm so if i got a 80 in bio that would be decent?

whats a decent mark in bio so it doesn't affect your ATAR?

phys>chem>eco
the differences in scaling here are very small so it wnt effect it much
phys b6 ~82/83 but has been as low as 78 as in 2005
chem around the same, also been around 78
bio i'm not sure

I don't think you have the right idea about scaling and ATAR calculation..

Bio would be mid 80's physics 82-83 chem 80-81. Seriously just do your best dont waste time worrying about it. You will get a great result nevertheless.

Even though it is not a 'main science', I didn't know where else to post, so what mark would you need to achieve a band 6 in senior science?

Everyone in this thread has got it all wrong.
Physics = 82~ for band 6. This is aligning people, not scaling.
This does not mean Chem and Eco will have lower cutoffs just 'cause they scale better.
I repeat: This is not scaling
Hence you cannot measure one subject's cutoffs to another

For chem, the cut off floats around 78-very low 80s for the band 6 cut off.
For physics, very low 80s but it has been around 78 for band 6.

No idea for bio.

Also, scaling wise, Shady is right:

This is probably a stupid question, but is your aligned mark based on your assesment mark?
