Did anyone do the 2009 independent sc trial exam for science? (The paper with a stupid question on a mythical story of Daedalus and Icarus flying with wings). If so, what did you think of it? easy? hard?

that was a stupid question. in ur test paper did ya also find that chem bit...recrstallisation bit hard lol

haha that was part of an SC english exam before. not really sure what it was like being part of a science paper

yeah the recrystallisation questions were hard. u had to say how many grams of each chemical dissolved, which wasn't clear in the question. every1 at my school said the exam was hard. harder than the real sc past papers.

Came out of exam thinking what I usually think about science- slog but not too hard. Our teachers marked that paper so ruthlessly. Top mark from the whole grade was 81% then 77% or something. And these are people that are good at science.

marks would be much higher in the SC.
my marks went up by 20% comparing internal to external

Hey yeah I did it, I thought it was relatively easy, although we got a weird science exam for our trial. It focused more on skills than knowledge, which really let our grade down!

+1 absolutely... I only just passed that whole exam with 63%.. i found it so difficult.. And that Greek mythology question was so stupid...
I hope the actual SC science exam won't be like that.

For our school the highest was in the 80% somewhere Orz

you will find this is very much the case in the real thing.

yeah we did that test as well, that question was stupid. the highest in our school was like 88%

I did that test, and omg, the highest mark in our grade was 84, and my friend got like 82 and he was raging after he got his results back :O

I got like 62 for that test.... and a little less than half of the school got under 50

you'll definitely get at least band 5... I could say around 82-83?

for me I'd be looking around 78 with my raw mark of 62 but actual school cert is easier.

lol.. highest in our school for that test was also 95%, but yeah that Daedalus and Icarus question was really stupid it had no reference to the experiment they had provided
