Has anyone gone from an average of 65's from Preliminaries to 90+ in all subjects, and then on to do very well in the HSC (ATAR: 90+) or know anyone who has? Let me know if this has happened to you, or someone, and how you/they did it. :D

Thank you.
My friend would like to know, he's very stressed at the moment.

This is me.

Year 10 english: 52% rank 110th
Year 11 English: 80% rank 2nd

I decided to memorise my essays. lol. back in year 10, I didn't study at all and i didn't even read my texts

Year 11 Term 1 Maths: 87% rank 10th
Year 11 Term 3 Maths: 93% rank 3rd

I decided to study from maths past papers.

Year 11 Economics Term 1: 86% rank 6th
Year 11 Economics Term 3: 94% rank 1st

i decided to study from syllabus dot points and practice exam style questions such as one of my weaknesses: Multiple choice.

Studies of religion Term 2: 70% rank 40th
studies of religion Term 3: 96% rank 3rd

I decided to memorise everything in the textbook. and i did this by retyping everything in the textbook without looking at the textbook. if you know how to reproduce the text, you must have memorised everything.

so you see, there is always still hope
its not about how smart u are or how much you study, but its about how determined you are, how confident you are and how SMART you study

evryone fails yr 11 physics. i dont know why seens the course is ridiculously easy.

the hsc is about effort - who can be bothered and who cant. the general jist is if you dont put in effort in prelim then the same trend follows on to year 12. but the teachers exaggerate this idea to make you work harder, anything is possible.

I got a Maths Extension 1 half yearly mark of 88%, dropped down to 38% in the Yearlies... <_<

But that's what happens if you put SIX circle geometry questions in.
