Wes Anderson has these certain motifs in his films. like the yellow futura font, a certain 'cast' family and that slow motion scene

the yellow futura font is in more than half of the scenes and if i recall there is at least 1 slow motion scene.

this is more of a film for fans of wes anderson to jerk off to than a kids film.

i mean sure, it's family friendly but i can see it pulling a more 20+ crowd

some scenes were done a lot better than others, but all of the characters looked amazing. there were several cutaways to scenes in fast motion where the puppets were kind of flung around the screen but that served a purpose.

i guess like anything you get used to the style but it didn't bother me so much.

I agree. I haven't seen the film yet, but the TV advertisement doesn't seem to do the film justice at all.
