An urgent question guys, would love if I get a quick response:

Currently I have:

Fitzpatrick 2U
Fitzpatrick MX1

I'm doing 4U (starting Ext2 1st term back) and would like to purchase a Cambridge textbook -- Does the 4U book include 2U and Ext1 content???

(I know that the 3U has 2U content)

Also considering getting Terry Lee for 4U. Does this only have Ext2 content???

Thanks :)

Also what are the newest editions of these textbooks?

- Cambridge 4U
- Terry Lee 4U

Thanks again :)

They don't have 3 unit topics in 4unit if you take out the harder 3unit chapter (which is a 4unit topic).

Newest editions:
Cambridge- Picture of a building in the front cover but it doesn't matter if you buy an older edition secondhand as the pages and questions are still the same
Terry Lee- The front cover is blue and inside it is colour

You be able to tell, they are very easy to distinguish as kaz1 said, Cambridge is Orange and has pictures of Buildings in the background. Terry Lee is dark blue and says "7th edition, Advanced Mathematics". They are both 4U and i believe, they are both very good books

So considering I have Fitzpatrick 2U + Ext1, should I get:

- Cambridge 3U (inc. 2U + Ext1) ... newest edition
- Cambridge Ext2 ... newest edition
- Terry Lee Advanced Mathematics ... 7th edition

How much should each of these cost approx.? Because I'll be getting them second-hand but want to make sure that I'm actually saving money.

Get the bolded. Later in the year get a past papers book for 3U and 4U. If you continually do past papers throughout the year and also come on BOS and see and answer Qs. You will get a very good mark.

Fitzpatrick 3U book is really good, in my opinion. Unfortunately it doesn't have solutions, but posting the questions on here will give you solutions.

Cambridge 4U has solutions online here. You can download them and any Q you don't understand then revert to them. Terry Lee has partial solutions to all Q in his book.

I used exactly the same books as you + did trial papers/past papers and achieved pretty good results.
2U(2008):98, 3U(2009): 97, 4U(2009): 97.

They definitely do exist because I have them for two topics (Binomial/Perm/Comb/Prob and Applications of calculus to the physical world).

Ahh right, i was specifically referring to an online pdf. I know that you can buy solutions (some schools do this), i'm guessing that's how you got them? i think they are like $50/topic, which is just ridiculous for a student to buy

Are you referring to fully worked solutions?

I don't think that my school bought them in the literal sense.

More likely what happened was that our head of mathematics knows some other teachers from other various private schools and got a copy of them. She told us that she tried to contact the publishers of the solutions to buy them but they had seemed to go out of business a long time ago or something.

Are you referring to fully worked solutions?
Yes he is.

@Jm01, yeah that's alright. I just mean't you must have got them through school, wasn't off the forum or anything.
