Yeah. I have one at usyd, but the total amount is split into 2 semesters. Might be different based on what uni you go to, but at usyd, it's reviewed every semester to check if you made the academic marks requirement and sent to your bank account AFTER the census date (about a month after semester starts) when you're financially locked into your subjects.

You have to read the terms and conditions of the scholarship, but in short - Yeah, they are.
