It would be kinda awkward if someone said 'I love you' to you and you didnt feel the same

srsly, what the hell would you do in that situation? (apart from congratulate yourself for being awesome)

Say you love the person.. does it mean anything when you say it to he/she does it change anything?
you get closer together .. but people break up... say it when your getting marriied knowing your gunna be spending the rest of your lives together.

you can say i love you, you don't have to be married or want to marry them
i mean i try and love everyone.

however it's probably best to say 'i'm in love with you' for someone you'd want to marry though.

If you really do love the person, then you should be patient enough to wait until both of you are ready to say it to each other.

It is selfish to say "I love you" to someone who may not, or may not want to feel the same way at the same point in time.

Something legitimate to say would be "I like you", though.

it's also necessary to differentiate between love and lust
Very True.

Don't say "I love you" until you're going to get married...

Otherwise it just causes a lot of complications.
lol. This ^

It's personal. It means what you want it to mean. No 3 words are going to change your life. Your actions will though. You can't define it, that's silly. It means more to one person than it does to another.

Don't think that your charm and the fact that your arm is now around my neck
Will get you in my pants I'll have to kick your ass and make you never forget
I'm gonna ask you to stop, thought I liked you a lot, but I'm really upset
Get out of my head get off of my bed yeah thats what I said
Did I not tell you that I'm not like that girl, the one who, throws it all awa-aay~

I was thinking about this the other day. I've been with my boyfriend for 4 months, and I was thinking about people who say it after a few weeks, 1 month, 3 months, whatever. It blew my mind. Loving someone is such a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge deal, it takes a lot longer, I think, than 4 months, to be 100% sure that you love someone. It's not something you'd want to be even only 99% sure of.

And I agree, it has pretty much lost most of it's meaning becuase it gets thrown around so much.
At my old school (yes, a girls school) Girls would say 'i love you' to almost everyone in their year (friend love.) I only say it to my best friend, she says it to me, cos we both know we've got eachothers backs and we're tight as nuns. (Y)

then i found 5 dollars.

EDIT: we haven't said it yet.

I find it funny that use all say " It may take a few months ". You cannot love a person within a few months of dating them.
Sure the attraction may be strong but it isn't love what so ever.

It took me and my ( ex gf ) over 8 months to say it with confidence.

Grow up.

Everyone has different circumstances. It's all very well and good that you took that long to be confident about it, but people who have been close before dating may reach that point before you did.

The only person I ever say it to and mean it is my mum. My family and my friends know I love them, but I wouldn't openly say it.
