Globalisation has had both positive and negative impacts on the environment.

The positive impacts are that nations are forced to face their environmental responsibilities and thus reduce the damage done to the enivronenment, and also the costs of preserving can be shared between nations.

On the other hand, however, developing countries who are set on making short term export revenue will engage in economic behaviour with devastating effects e.g. deforestation for paper. Also, globalisation has increased the use of non-renewable fuels for transport by air, road, rail and sea.

Yeah, like devoloping countries hoping to trade with groups such as the EU have had to re-evaluate their environmental policies in order to meet their much higher environmental standards. And not to mention multilateral environmental agreements like the Kyoto Protocol.
