Hey guys, I am new to Macquarie and I am looking for some academically strong fellows to form a junior mooting/interview team for the MULS competition. I want to form a team of two, but if I get a lot of enthusiastic replies for mooting, I would be happy to form a mooting team of four instead.
Reasons should you do mooting:
- It's a lot of fun
- It enhances your advocacy skills
- It looks good on your CV
- It's the best way to satisfy your ultra-high-law-student ego
You would be my ideal team mate if you:
- are in your SECOND year, doing B_/LLB
- have a strong academic record (namely having at least a Credit average)
- have good communication skills
- can compete on Monday and Thursday night (from 5.30)
- are willing to dedicate three hours per week working on the competition
- chose to do law not because you got 95 UAI/ATAR and had no idea what you really wanted. In other words, you must be passionate about studying law, from the day you put your preference down.
- want to prove yourself to be a good law student
- respect your team mate and opponents
A brief note about myself:
- Second year in LLB, first year in BA (English literature). I started with BCom, but dropped it last year.
- Good academic record (4 D, 3C and 1P in my first year)
- Transferred from UWS, did a bail assessment there and got 73%
- Good work ethics, always treat study/work tasks seriously
Please express your interest by personal message. I don't mind if you are not a top student or an excellent communicator (but at least speak English fluently) as long as you're sure that you love mooting/ interview competition.
