Help! How does UAI/ATAR get calculated! (1 Viewer)

i've tryed various atar calc programs and they all end up with a shockingly dissapoited reslut; im pretty sure im working the atar calculator wrong! If so, What 'HSC' mark do i put in!?

my anticipated results for:

Legal - 70%
English Advanced - 65%
Food Tech - 75%
Music 1 - 80%
Maths General - 50%
Visual Arts 65%

My ATAR calculator said something like 36.... great -.-

By the way; im thinking of dropping either Visual Arts or Maths General, which one roughly scales higher!?

The calc is not wrong, those marks are tooooooo lowwwwwwwwwww.
Put in higher marks, around 85 each and see what u get.

Also your school assessments count remember.

If the calc says that, then most likely thats what will happen.

Um you put 50% for general, 65% for English Advanced and 65% for Visual Arts

Yeah HSC is fucked As long as you work your ass off, who gives a shit what these guys say. Nobody in the real world is going to judge you on your ATAR.

yeah no-one in the real world is going to judge you on it. Unless you wanna go to uni which im not too sure, but i dont think there are many courses for people who get a mark under 40? But apart from those people and maybe friends and teachers and people who actually find out you got under 40 wont judge you

To give you an idea of how scaling works against you:

(I'm using atarcalculator.com.au here)
70 in all your subjects gives you around 42.85
80 in all your subjects gives you 71.8
90 in all your subjects gives you 93.15

Why?

The ATAR is not a mark, it is a percentile.
