Urgh. Surely it's not too hard for a teacher to check all proposed names and google the ones they're unsure about for hidden meanings or whatever. Sheer and utter laziness.

I couldn't think of a nickname so I didn't order one.

80% of the year 12 cohort's nicknames at my school boiled down to:

-mention of ethnicity
-alternating upper/lower case
-random symbols...tildes, @s, et al

Some chick got "~*~*~sErBiAn pRiNcEsS~*~*~". Yeah man, I'd love my high school years to be immortalised by that.

Our school gave us three choices: first name, last name or no jersey at all.

The only variations allowed were for shortening of first names, eg Pat instead of Patrick (but not Loz instead of Lauren).

Clearly my school was where the party was at.
