Can someone pleaseeeeee help me with this question?discuss the following statements about the modern era:
" the improved technology of metal extraction has led to the discovery of more metals"and "the discovery of different properties has opened up new areas of technology".

" the improved technology of metal extraction has led to the discovery of more metals"
It can be see from the table that more metals are available for use than there were 200 years ago. The reasons for this are as follows:
· Better methods of isolating the metals. For example, the use of electrolysis enabled to isolate sodium, potassium, calcium.
· The Principle of electromagnetic induction led to the development of the dynamo. This meant that electricity could be produced in sufficient quantities for use in process involving the electrolysis of molten alumina and cryolite to produce aluminium.
· Use of open-cut mining of low-grade ores and the flotation process led to lower extraction cost.
· Better organisation of the know elements and their properties was developed.

Also, the invention of bellows allowed hotter fires so you could separate some metals from their ores which require lots of energy.
