this could potentially be a stupid question but how do i prove ththe following using the pinching theorem? this question is from the Limits chapter in the course notes for MATH1131 & 1141:

there was only one example in the course notes, and using the same method I did this:

but i can't use the pinching theorem because the limits limits of -1/theta and 1/theta is minus infinity and infinity respectively.

any help appreciated!:)

Probably better to ask your tutor or lecturer next time.

yeah i think ill probably do that. would you know the story with consultation times for maths? because i was browsing blackboard, and i found them for physics but i couldn't find the consultation times for my maths lecturer/tutor. i might have to run down and stop him before he leaves.

thanks anyway! :)

you should have it in your course outline or ask the tutor.

Is there anywhere we can find Calculus past papers / practice questions?

The ones that came with the course pack are for the semester 1 final exams i think, but are there any smaller ones to practice on for our first ever calculus test (week5)?

N/A
wolfram alpha does limit calculations

granted, for sin x/x it uses L'opitals to work it out, it can be quite helpful

yes I'd like to know this as well.

I can only use Maple for the limit questions
why dont you post your question here on the forums?

that way other people can help you check that your answer is correct and you and other people will also have access to the answer?
