absolutly true. But this is an election year, so therefore both parties will forget the basic things that need to be maintained etc etc blah blah blah
it will be very close i think.... many people are disappointed with rudd.... but then again abbott is very difficult to like as a politician and his 'do nothing and oppose' antics are pissing off people all the same.

wow im glad everyone has so little faith in abbott. that makes me happy.

perhaps rudd has a fighting chance ftw.

Lauchlan in the wake of the 2007 election the liberal partyroom met to elect a new leader. Abbott initially nominated for the position but withdrew because he lacked the numbers. Generous estimates gave him 8 votes. Nelson and Turnbull both had mid thirties.

In March 2008 sportsbet gave odds for the liberal leader at the next election. First was Dr Nelson, closely behind him were Turnbull who was barely ahead of Costello. Those three were all fairly short odds at the time, betting on them wasn't really worth it so far out from an election. Around the ten dollar mark I think but I'd have to check were Joe Hockey and Julie Bishop. Equal on $38 was Ian Mcfarlane(nice voice), Andrew Robb (who?) and Tony Abbott.

There is a very good reason for both these things, from the safety of 2008 where people were able to analyse stuff sensible they could tell that Abbott was a polarizing, apparently unstable radical who like Mark Latham and John Hewson before him is completely unelectable from opposition.

i agree that abbott isnt likeable from a voters perspective... and i mentioned before that its pretty pathetic the only reason he is opposition leader is because turnbull wanted to act on climate change.
thats a big no-no for libs.

i agree with you (please insert your source tho).

a vote for liberal is not a vote for no filter.

i think we all know tony has extreme views on "ethics" and can't be taken very seriously for putting religion into politics.

to all those who were winging about how bad labor are (scuba steve ect.), i say to you that in comparison to an abbott govt future policies, rudd's are sane.

the only reason tony abbott hasnt revealed his policy is because he is waiting and hoping to get elected - and (god forbid) he gets elected, he will bomb us all with his crazy religious-influenced ideas.
