Well, I agree in part. I think some classical music is relaxing, depending on my mood and the situation. Then again, Nirvana or any metal/ thrash band is better then listening to classical.

I have 100GB worth of music. Random music, ranging from black metal to Korean pop to classical. Shuffle on. Study.

I prefer listening to music that I don't understand or instrumentals, as it is less distracting.

Neo-Classical or New Age for more Creative/Writing type work.

But it depends on the mood. Black and Doom Metal (depending on vocals) can be alright as well.

I've never really looked at it this way. I do agree completely on the music depending on the mood; I usually listen to heavy/ death metal (e.g. I killed the Prom Queen), when doing a very long and boring English assignment. It gives a minuscule shot of adrenaline imo.
