God exists, he created everything that we know to be bound by the laws of science yet preceded them therefore is not bound by the laws of science and cannot be validated by scientific testing.

Again with the coy dumbness? You are dogmatic, so utterly deluded into this notion that nobody does it better than a completely free market that any argument to the contrary might as well be laid out before a brick wall.

well so far nothing is better for society then the free market. look at America worlds greatest example of how regulations fuck up capitalism. do you honestly believe that most regulations out there don't do more harm then good? and if i say something contrary to you arguement and your beliefs in how capitalism should work you dismiss me. so why shouldn't i just do the same?

Not that I disagree with you exactly, but let me put that question back to you: do you believe that we should have no regulation at all? I guess I'm asking: is there a place in your ideology for evidence-based regulation?

The United States is not nearly as regulated or taxed as Germany, Sweden, Norway, Australia or New Zealand all of which have faired remarkably well by comparison during this economic crisis.

Permitted, in a well regulated economy those banks wouldn't have been allowed to give out those loans and we would have all been better for it.

in believe in AC so no government however in all seriousness if something like this was going to be done i would try a minarchy first meaning very minimal government with taxes as low as like 3% just to run stuff like police emergency services fire ses water supply etc and of course defensive and possibly run roads.

but regulations would be kept so low, list of government regulations could be reduced to one page instead of the 100's of pages we have now.

most important thing would be if i could not get any regulations removed at all. for the love of society just abolish the fed

no, these banks didn't want to make the loans but Jimmy Carter being the insane leftist that he is thought that making the banks make bad loans would help them the poor own their own homes

there are an very small number of instances where regulation could be beneficial, but in the vast majority of cases regulations erect barriers to entry and allow big, established corporations subvert the free market and have artificially low competition.
It is impossible to keep government small, and so if you start off with the "good" regulations it will ALWAYS grow to the bad regulations, ALWAYS. And so teh solution is the removal of the state. Or at teh very least seperation of state and economy

I'm part of the SES. The government doesn't fund us. The local councils do through rates.

Fucking government. Wait what.

I don't know much about american politics but from what i've heard, the government didn't hold a gun to the bankers heads and say "give out these loans", they did it of their own volition

Andrew Bolts blog.
I don't think a blog actually counts as a reliable source....I've never heard anything about legislation forcing them to give out bad loans, i have heard an outcry about how they were irresponsible to do so

sigh

scubastevo, water etc is run by private companies or local council paif for by rates and water use fees or connection fees etc so it could easily be privatised

roads could be privatised for sure. emergency services i dont know.

police could be privatised. existing to ensure personal liberty is not infringed (and to punish this by infringing on personal liberty obvs)
