Cabonara (according to a cook book I have)

  1. Cook pasta.
  2. While pasta is cooking beat an egg or two (depending on how many people you're cooking for. One egg per person).
  3. Add a handful of grated parmesan cheese to the raw, beaten egg and season mix with salt and pepper.
  4. Fry up some bacon and shallots if you want to. Add these to the raw egg mix once cooked.
  5. Once pasta is cooked stir through the raw egg and cheese mix. The hot pasta will cook the egg and melt the cheese.
  6. Enjoy!

Awesome Brekky Milkshake

Ingredients: milk, banana, frozen berries, ice cream of nearly any flavour, dark chocolate.
If using choco I tend to use vanilla ice cream but can also do caramel etc. Can also combine choco and ice cream together if you want.

Method: put into blender. I put them in order listed so the softer ones are on the bottom. Blend and serve.

Regrettably I also have to clean the blender but if a family member also wants one after you you can ditch the cleaning on them lol.

Ultimate toasted cheese sandwich

  1. Combine Philadelphia cream cheese, Dijon mustard, tasty cheese and parmesan cheese and a little bit of salt and pepper in a bowl (add other kinds of cheese if you like - cheddar, swiss jarlsberg)
  2. Spread cheese/mustard mix over slice of bread.
  3. Top with another slice of bread.
  4. Butter the outside of sandwich and sprinkle with a little salt.
  5. Toast sandwich in fry pan until golden brown and cheese is melting/oozing out of sandwich (if cheese is not oozing out of the sandwich but the bread is golden brown then put it in the microwave for 15 seconds).
  6. Eat.

Scrambled Eggs in the Microwave

Aim:
To scramble eggs in microwave.
Hypothesis:
The eggs will scramble nicely.

Time:
1 - 1.5 minutes

Apparatus:
Microwavable dish (the one your mum heats up veggies in with water - you know that one)
Fork to stir and later eat with
Knife if you're oh so fancy
Two - three eggs
Dash of milk
Salt & Pepper
Optional: some toast

Method:
Crack eggs into micro- dish.
Pour a bit of milk in.
Grind half normal amount of salt & pepper in.
Stir with fork until a bit bubbly.
Stick in microwave.
Set for 50 seconds but keep an eye open incase it gets too dry. You can check on it and give it a stir through the 50 seconds if you're bothered.
Now it should have scrambled bits at the side/middle and still runny egg. If too much runniness, stick in for another 10 secs.
If still runny, 10 secs after that.
And after that. And after that. <-- step usually unnecessary.
If still runny, get a new microwave.
Put some more salf & pepper on it.
EAT.

Results:
EGGS.
Ummmm.....

Cous cous

I usually eat it as a side dish, but you could eat it by itself.

You need-

1. Flavours. Anything you want, pretty much. I often have it with fresh mint, apple, walnuts and honey (delicious as a side to pork)..
2. Cous cous (1/4 cup is loads)
3. Water (equal part to cous cous)
4. Oil, butter

Boil the water with some oil, take it off the heat and add the cous cous. Put the lid on and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Add the butter and your chosen flavourables.

CONSUME.

Guacamole

2 avocados, mushed
1 tomato, diced
1/2 a red onion, diced
juice of 1/2 lemon

tobasco
salt
pepper
to taste

Mix everything together. Easy as.

You can get a piece of pita or leb bread, cut it into strips, spray it with oil, sprinkle with salt and bake it into chips if you want a healthier alternative to doritos.

this is something i like to make often when we need a quick sunday night meal. usually we have it with a barbeque chicken and another salad, such as a greek one. :)

cold hokkien noodle salad

you need:
- 175g pack of hokkien noodles
- 1 capsicum
- 1 tin of baby corn spears
- a couple of handfuls of snow peas
- sweet chilli sauce

separate noodles in a bowl of boiling water, chop capsicum, de-string and blanch snow peas for a couple of minutes in boiling water, add ingredients together in a large salad bowl, add tin of baby corn, add sweet chilli sauce as per your tastes, mix well and enjoy. :D
I'll try this sometime this week.
Sounds interesting.

Boil a packet of pasta with a pinch of salt, then drain it.
Mix the pasta with a jar of your favourite pasta sauce+ diced bacon
Put it in a tray... I think it's called a tray. One of these:

Sprinkle your favourite cheese on top.
Bake in oven at 180 degrees for about ten minutes- or until cheese is melted.

nomnomnom.
