I'm not sure if there is a thread already like this, couldn't be bothered looking through them all but I'm just curious...

If you've just began a relationship/fling with someone and your both previously sexually active, do you wait at all before sleeping with your new partner?

If so, how long?

If you are looking for recommendations on the amount of time you should wait, you should start off by describing your socio-economic status.

Ha I'm not looking for recommendations, I'm just curious.
I was talking to a couple of my friends about it and they each felt differently about it.

Depends on how experienced you are, how old you are and how serious you are about the relationship.

I jumped into bed pretty quickly with a few relationships. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. These days I'd wait a few weeks at least, get to know them a bit first and then go for it if everything's working out.

Edit: oh wait lol opinions

if you are >16 then you *should* have enough maturity to be able to know when it is the right time

I usually try to lay on the first or second date. Relieves the sexual tension of the realtionship.

This is dumb. It's different for every situation.
I konw girls who freak out because they think they've slept with someone 'too soon' when it's all circumstantial and relationships should never be 'time-based' but 'feeling-based' if you get me.
I slept with my current boyfriend the first time I met him and we've been together for almost a year and have a very stable relationship.

this couple i knew had sex first and then became a couple several months later
My ex and I used to count our anniversary from the first time we slept together because it happened pretty much immediately. We were together for three and a half years so it worked.

Also, just do it when you feel ready. End thread.
