dont you ever have things to move?
towing boats/caravans

but yes that is a good point most people dont need one

same argument could be made for all styles of vehicle though

True that... I'm inclined to think it's similar argument to 4WD's except some people just like the height/size of the 4WD.

That's <$50k :) Unless you mean STI.

erm, ive never had to tow anything or move anything.... removalists can do that

but the selling point of utes is its ability to transport stuff
the selling point of SUVs is its ability to go offroad
the selling point of convertibles is its roof...
coupes/hatches/sedans dont exactly have a distinct selling point in terms of vehicle structure...

and honestly, i reckon theres been more days where i wished my car was a convertible, than if it was a ute/suv

alfa romeo spider trumps all of those in looks, the v6 version will trump most of them in performance

Maybe alfa's competitors just paid off aliens to set fire to the cars so that they would get more sales for themselves.

Good is a relative term, depends on what you deem important.
Yes that is so, but no point having a car with bad build quality and reliability. And if a vehicle isnt reliable, no point in having one.

I really did consider one the week before I ordered my car. The V6 model was on sale (thank you GFC) but then the problem was the guys who worked at (name hidden) dealership of Alfas convinced me out of it.

That being said it looked so damn awesome and hot. Interior was a bit outdated compared to competitors (e.g. Audi A4 2.0T) but if I wanted a convertible this would be on my list.

Aston Martins are notoriously unreliable and I still want one. Case and point, car purchase is more than just logical reasoning, if it were that we'd all be driving VW Golfs. There's more than just performance/reliability.
