putting on a lot of weight quickly is unhealthy. if you're concerned about being healthy as well as a good weight, perhaps see a dietician for a session or two (if your parents are paranoid about you having an eating disorder I'm sure they'll agree to this).

A combination of healthy food + exercise is best. High protein can be good short term, but balance is essential long term.

question to my learned friends: best way to gain muscle for a lazy and 'studious' hsc female student?

Dr said I had no muscle

I don't want to die early and I find it very difficult to open lids which should be v simple and easy to open

Try mixing butter, cream or adding cheese to vegetables, ice-cream with topping or custard/ rice pudding for dessert, eat a healthy portion of meat for at least 5 nights a week. Have lots of snacks through the day (fruit, or full-fat dairy snacks, milkshakes etc). Add some skim millk powder into your normal milk and use the enriched milk in cereal, milkshake, desserts etc.

Edit: Make sure you keep exercise up also.

Nick: Now there are many options available for dangerously
underweighted individuals like yourself. I recommend a slow
steady gorging process combined with assal horizontology.
Homer: [pensive] Of course.
Nick: [points to a chart] You'll want to focus on the neglected
food groups such as the whipped group, the congealed group
and the chocotastic!
Homer: What can I do to speed the whole thing up, Doctor?
Nick: Well...be creative. Instead of making sandwiches with
bread, use poptarts. Instead of chewing gum, chew bacon,
heh...
Bart: You could brush your teeth with milkshakes!
Dr. Nick: Hey, did you go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College too?
And remember, if you're not sure about something, rub it
against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, it's
your window to weight gain. Bye bye, everybody!
