Yeah, that's what I thought as well, since it's the most plausible explanation apart from mere coincidence. But I guess you'll have to ask the guy to confirm it though...cos that's pretty freaky (coming first in your school in both class assessments and HSC)
I came first in everything so my internals and externals matched. Although someone saved my ass in Bio given that it was a terrible exam =) so being ranked first PAYS OFF.

Thank you guys!

And yeah, definitely about the 10 units. I did 10 units (only one out of two in my grade) from the very beginning, and I still remember standing in front of my deputy as she told me I was very likely to screw up because of my decision.

Shows what you can achieve if you believe in yourself =).
Congrats iSplicer on your 99.95 and USyd med xD I was the 2nd person in his grade who did 10 units :) ...and I still remember that 'discussion' =__="

My marks: (subject/exam mark/assessment mark/hsc mark)

Chemistry 96 96 96
English (Advanced) 92 94 93
Mathematics Extension 1 98 98 98
Mathematics Extension 2 96 97 97
Physics 94 95 95

Externals all less than or equal to internals, let my guard down a bit too much -.- Just missed out on 99.95 I think, oh wells. Still good ^^

My results are nowhere near as good as those listed above, but I'm still pretty damn happy :)

Adv. English 89/100
Ext 1 40/50
Ext 2 34/50
Modern History 92/100
History Extension 45/50
Spanish Continuers 87/100
Society and Culture 95/100
Mathematics 88/100

I'm very surprised by Maths, Spanish and Society - better than I expected! I'm a bit disappointed with Modern, seeing as though it was my best subject and I worked so hard. The English extensions were also pretty disappointing, but I hate creative writing so no surprises there!

Matrix estimates: 95.90
I don't believe this estimate - it's way too high! I'd be happy with low 90s, but that means I wouldn't get into the course I want :-( Oh well! I did my best I guess.

Congrats to everyone on the awesome results!!!

Hmm alot of people here seemed to have gotten B6 in Bio, does this mean it may not scale as well x D

Nah, BOS aligns the marks so that number of band 6's is consistent over the years. If they're doing a good job at aligning of course xD. Should be consistent with previous years I hope.

The percentages seem to be gradually increasing... in a lot of subjects though.

I don't think so. Most people here who posts their marks are highly intelligent. people...who are less competent dont post here. of course there are a few that do, and they usually post their miseries along with their marks.

can i know my ATAR score without applying for uni...??? thanks
Yes, but you had to apply for an ATAR notice. If not, then I'm not sure how. Probably some ATAR calculators will point you in the general area.

I got 92 in Mathematics, which I quite pleased with considering I'm a Year 10 accelerated student.
