...is when you have three assessment tasks due this Friday.

Also, no other computer in my house has a SATA controller, I've backed up my work, but on a secondary SATA HDD...

So, what graphics card should I get for around $30. I know I could get a cheap ATI HD5xxx series card which could do Eyefinity but I had an NVIDIA card so if I get an NVIDIA card I could just pop it in, start my assessment and not have to mess around with drivers.

My old motherboard had onboard graphics, was great for when the gfx card died.

Get the cheapest card from MSY in that case then, (window's has basic graphics drivers so you should be able to just whack in a card and off you go)

I'd go with the Nvidia since you're just after a cheap card. Most of the cheap ones should have Linux drivers so you should be fine.

I know it's a month old, don't know if you bought a new one already, but for $30 you're not really giving yourself much options. My little brother has a ATI Radeon HD4550, I think it's about $30, and it works fine for him. But what is it you want to do? I don't understand why you can't just use your onboard graphics - unless you are using some intense software?

My motherboard doesn't have integrated graphics. Anyway, I ended up getting a Geforce 210.
