Yeah, consider this.
If p^2 + q^2 + r^2 = 3, then -1 =< p,q,r =< 1
Considering the third equation
p + 2q - r = 5
The maximum value of the LHS considering the above condition is 1 + 2 + 1 = 4 =/= 5, therefore no real solutions.

Of course, that's assuming each of them is like that, after rereading it, this assumption is wrong. Irrespective of that, I'm still going to try and find out why this equation is wrong.

Okay, my bad, the condition is actually
root3 < p,q,r < root3
but i don't see how that helps. Okay I cbf now =)

Try
p^2 + q^2 + r^2 = 5
p + q + r =1
p + 2q - r = 5

I have hand-checked your 1st set of values for p, q & r and they satisfy all 3 equations.

I believe the 2nd solution will also be confirmed
