Yes BUT both degrees will appear on your transcript

i.e. my transcript says

BCM
WAM: 63
GPA: 4.5

BCM & BComm (Discontinued)
WAM: 60
GPA: 3.7

I have a similar question, if I did a semester of a grad cert in biotech and never completed the course and am starting law (graduate entry) do both appear on my transcript? (I'm not carrying over any subjects because its just straight law, not combined)

I think how it works is it basically does 'reset' for the new course, although both just show on your transcript. Though if you're carrying subjects over, you'll already have a GPA for the new degree from whatever units you carried over.

possibly - if you look up whirlpool forums they have answers to questions like this though it is usually based on insitutions
