Re: UNSW Food - Expensive or Cheap?

I remember when pies used to be $2 at my school when I was in Year 7.. then they started to raise the price of everything by 20c each year. I think it's about $3.20 now

Damn this, when I went to Beijing, China for holiday, there was this huge bowl of noodles for $5 RMB (which is 70 cents AUD.....................).
BEAT THAT! =_=

When I was in HK, people use to say fuck u to Burger King (hungry jacks whatever) because of its ridiculous prices. I might say the same here......
But you're in Australia, not China.

As I mentioned in the other thread, if you want cheap meals you'll probably have to go off campus and walk down Anzac Pde. If you have a 2 hour gap that'll be enough usually.

Not a fan of this. You get served random meat that look like a dogs or pigs private parks and is unidentifiable. Not very appetizing when you get that or a pigs tail.

Avoid the kebab/fried food shop in the Quad food court now. Last year they were decent value but this year they've now raised all their prices by between 50c and $1 so its not worth it really now for what you get. Used to get Lunch there 2 or 3 times of times a week at least although won't now. Roundhouse bistro is far cheaper now for comparative food.

I am envious. Good old days. :D

LOL, u still have to pay for the bread and the ingredients.
And your mum needs to make u lunch, although it would be fast but I don't like my mum doing everything for me now...
It's all cool. Still way cheaper than campus food according to my strict calculation. A loaf of bread ~ $5 (divide by ~5 uses = $1), ham when sliced <50cents, couple of lettuce...etc another 50cents. $2 sandwich is hard to get :)

I'm just going to take Bus 400 to Subway and pay $7 for a sub, or half a sub on congested days.
Or you could walk up the hill for 10 minutes instead. Subway is defiantly better value.

Its quicker to walk than wait for a bus most of the time.

Re: UNSW Food - Expensive or Cheap?

There's a Subway? I'd love to... but I have to meet some people for textbook purchases. That, and to get my course notes. And to find out where my other classes are =P

Though if it's at lunchtime, I may make an excuse to go...
