New question:
A finance company has agreed to pay a retired couple a pension of $19200/yr for the next 20 yrs, indexed to inflation that is 3.5% per annum.
How much would have the coupe been paid over 20 years?
In return, the couple pay an upfront fee which the company invests at a compound interest rate of 7% per annum. The total value of the fee plus interest covers the pension payout over the 20 yr period. How much did the couple pay upfront?

(i) Find the number of fish just after the second harvest in December 1999.

(ii) Show that, the number of fish just after the n th harvest, is given by

(iii) When will the farmer have sold all his fish, and what will his total
income be?

(iv) Each December the retailer offers to buy the farmer’s business by paying

154000 - 54000 x 1.1^n
iii) 11th yr. 1693283.53
