An average of med-high B6/E4 in all your subjects. You may get a 99+ with all but one B6 if they're really high though... e.g. 98+ average and a E3 for 4 unit maths or something like that.

Play around with an atar calculator, and depends on your subjects.

^ just because you get 85 for everything it does not mean you cant get 90+. ATAR is not an average of hsc marks, it is a rank used to compared your hsc performance with other people who i the hsc. If you are getting 85 in your subjects, you are basically performing at the top 10% in that subject. Now if that is consistantly the case, then you are in the top 10% of people doing the hsc and hence an atar of 90+

Now it doenst work exactly like that cause some people could be in the top 5 percentile for a subject but only top 40th percentile for another but what I am trying to emphasises is ATAR = your ranking compared to others based on your hsc performance

and to OP if it makes your prediction any easier I will share some of my marks and friends with you. Both of us got low 99+

Mine
Eng Adv - 88
Chem - 89 (did not count for me)
Maths 3U - 98
Maths 4U - 91
Biology - 95
Legal studies - 95

My friend
Eng Adv - 95
Economics - 89
Chemistry - 89
Physics - 89
Maths 3U - 96
Maths 4U - 93

...

You don't need legal studies for a law degree, but doing it would help you so much because the HSC legal studies course is a good basis for it.

because it's bad scaling

Do 4u maths, chem, physics, english adv, get average band 6 marks for each, that's a mid 99

if you do legal and crap like ancient history, gen maths etc, you will need 99 in each for a similar atar

Scaling changes every year.

Easier said than done. I would be inclined to do a subject that I am good at and reap the benefits from that. Opposed to doing subjects that scale -insanely- but I am shit at.

hate to say this HJKIM but i did legal studies and got into law, my marks were mentioned above.

Our school dux did legal studies and got into law with an atar of 99.90. her marks ranged between 94-98. So your 99 in everything else theory fails.

I got 95 for legal she got 97 for legal if that makes any signifiance

not really, a friend of mine got 99.75 and she didn't do one science and only did 2 unit advanced math. She did 5 units of history and 3 units of english and economics. She didn't need to get 99 in each.

Playing around with an ATAR calculator, but usually mid band 6's will get you.

Also you can get any mark with any subject
