As opposed to the dangers of street dealing, which is currently raising the price already...

Re: Why is marijuana still illegal?

I can understand why it is illegal, THC induces schizophrenia should not be consumed at all. it's also a drain on the medical system and taxpayers money, as is smoking. I don't want to pay for somebody else's cancer treatment so smoking should be made illegal too.

alcohol – same story again. if people can't consume it responsibly, limit what people have access to. tough sh*t I know for everyone else, but as always its always a select few that stuff things up for everyone.

okay so firstly thc does not induce schizophrenia. That is completley false. If you have a genetic history of schizophrenia, smoking buds can slightly increase the risk of it coming out EARLIER rather than later.

Seconldy, how exactly would making it legal waste taxpayer money? What money do you think goes into fueling all the drug campagins, and prosecuting all those with marijuana related offenses?> taxpayer money

Thirdly, its not a fucking drain on the medical system you tool it is a medicine, a completley natural one aswell.

ALso i have no idea what your trying to get at with that alcohol point

Re: Why is marijuana still illegal?

Its not generally the drug that ruins your life but rather getting the money to keep up with the addiction, eg heroin.
Therefore, if its legal itll be cheaper and wouldnt be as harmful as it is now

But that is because of the explicotation of the addicted.

If it was legalized it would be alot easier to get, hence it should be cheaper.

Re: Why is marijuana still illegal?

@ smokers drain taxpayer's money thing,

If you get in a car accident then you should have every right to use the medical system you paid for through taxes yeah? Why doesn't a smoker have the same rights to access those resources? No smoker intends to get cancer or anything, it's just an 'accident'. Obesity probably costs more than smokers, does that mean unhealthy foods should be banned?

If you look at it in the larger point of view. Unhealthy food does cause obesity which causes a lot of tax payers money to go to waste.

However the jobs it produces out weighs (lol i love my puns) the positives of banning it.

Re: Why is marijuana still illegal?

Drugs should be legal, but you need to be a certain age before taking them. Such as the "you gotta be 18 or over to smoke" rule.
Alcohol should be able to be purchased by age 16+ imo.

It is not retarded reasoning.

Approx 1/3 to 1/4 of Australians work in Fast Food.

Any laws which causes a impact on this industry would cause loss of jobs.

It should be considered a health issue, not a crime.

So by the same reasoning, look at all the jobs we're losing because marijuana is illegal.

i wasn't even suggesting that fatty foods should be banned you derp

i was using it to make a point

i.e. people pay for hospitals and doctors etc. so they can use the medical system when they need it, smokers and matt goodwins aren't any different
