As for everything else, I'd say you can pull off about 93ish

My mark is exactly 3 marks behind the top ranker,my English cohort are all closely ranked.

It just indicates how well you could do, doesn't affect your atar, only provides an indication of how the cohort may be.

Just work harder and try to close the gap, because in the Actual hsc it could make you worse off, so if it's 3 marks, then I guess you have a chance of pulling off 95+

Thanks for that! and what if my mark is bad but rank is good. eg- general maths 73 but 5th!! also will uni take my legal score into consideration if im off the required atar. As it is my best subject averaging 94%

Just hope that you guys do better in the actual HSC, it's either the cohort is really bad OR the exams are hard, so it all depends on your actual hsc mark and the marks of those ranked above you.

As for your score, it wont be considered, unless it's part of a bonus points scheme and the course says you can get bonus points if you're short, and have either band 5 or 6

My physics average is 82. Oh i did not do 2 unit as the teacher was an idiot.

My School marks are bad but ranking are good!! my marks are mostyl 70 n 80s excl Legal which is in 90! PLus my friend was 4 ina ll subjects last year n only managed an atar of 82!

The ranking of the school DOES NOT factor into the calculation of the ATAR - it's just so that we can figure out how smart a cohort is. Obviously being ranked 1st in a school ranked 55 will probably yield a higher ATAR than someone ranked first in a rank 550 school.
