70 WAM. Easy or difficult? (1 Viewer)

So I'm getting 84 provisional for MATH1141. Seems like 70 WAM, thus far - and just using that maths mark - is pretty easy if you do the work.

Hopefully the UNSW Board people decide that 84 provisional should be 85 final =P

But hey, considering that some people here like Riproot like saying how much I suck at maths - it's a nice way to undermine his entire argument which he's been using for six months. =)

1st year maths (at any university) is quite standard stuff though...

I think 1st year maths is easier than 4U actually (you don't get impossible Q7/8's)... But the content is somewhat different isn't it? eg. Matrices, vector geometry etc...

Yeah - the content is different, especially algebra. It was complex numbers and then... vectors/matrices. Calculus was more familiar - but some things were different.

Algebra was pretty much all different. Calculus, they just go through the proper definitions for cont., differentiability, and like, IVT, MVT etc.

The exam questions are easier than 4U in general, but 4U has a huge amount of scaling anyway.

Nope not necessary at all. I'm doing 1141/1241 and they will still allow me to major in Actuarial Studies and do ACTL1001.

No benefits really. Although you learn the same content but some topics in different semesters, MATH1141/1241 has a greater focus on the Pure Maths topics, whereas MATH1151/1251 has a greater focus on stuff relevant to ACTL/QR.

math1151/1251 people are smarter.

lol good old first year uni. it's funny how my first year wam was like 80 and second year is 84 (so far). 2nd year trumps 1 year, it's so weird.

And yes, i reckon 4 unit is harder than 1151.
