can someone plz do question 6 b) iii) from this trial paper and give me hints as to how to do it:

Well, u do what it asks, use the previous parts.
From parts i) and ii), you know that
Then you can divide the inequality through by 1+x^2. Then u integrate the lower and upper bound from 0 to 1 and you'll get the answer.

where did the 1 + x^2 come from, is there a graphical reason for that or do you just do it bcuz the question has it?

because the question has it. You just see that you have to change what you have from parts i and ii into some form to be used for part iii. And you can also tell from the partial fractions thing they give you. (also note 1+x^2 > 0 )
