That's what i'm currently intredested in atm... but I don't know if it's practical

I'm not sure if you would become a registered psychologist with this degree though

Psychology interests me, but I also want to be an auditor so...

yep, the psych degree is a bit of a gimmick imo, because B Sc or even B Arts students who major in psychology are doing the exact same subjects as B Psych students. I think the only difference is that B Psych students are guaranteed a spot in the honors program which is required to be a psychologist, while other students have to keep a Credit or Distinction average for it. Which is ironic anyway because B Psych students have to maintain a D average or they get kicked out of their degree lol. Even if you miss out on honors, there are other pathways to becoming a registered psychologist, eg. a graduate diploma in psychology for 1 year to make up the required 4 years study.

The ATAR requirement for B Psych varies across unis. At USYD its around 97 whereas at UWS it is around 80 i think. But you would be better off doing science or arts majoring in psychology at usyd than doing b psych at uws lol. Also not ALL unis guarantee you a spot in the honors program.

To become a registered psychologist, you need to undertake 4 years of study all up minimum- ie. 3 years in an undergraduate degree doing a psychology major plus either an honors year in psychology or a 1 year graduate diploma (i think). Then you do either 1 year of supervised practice or something else which I cant remember, and then you can become a registered psychologist.

With my degree, i'm planning to work in HR consulting and eventually HR management for big firms etc. I chose to major in psych because I think that will give me competitive advantage when looking for work in the HR field (which is very people-based obviously) and also because its enjoyable and keeps my options open- if I hate HR i can always go back and do another year of psychology to eventually become a psychologist.

@anna: if you are interested in com/sc with a psych major, id definitely do it. Psych is really interesting and offsets the extreme boredom caused by commerce. Also if you do it at usyd, the lecturers are brilliant.
