Why don’t you?

So, let me get this straight. In the HSC, only the individuals who lose 3 errors or less throughout the entire paper get a band 6? That sounds like BS, hence why I’m assuming he was not talking about the externals.

Thanks man, I appreciate your effort.
*she. but be logical. seriously. 64 PEOPLE OUT OF 32,000 + people will get a band 6. It has to be like 97+. i highly doubt that less than 64 people would get over 90% as a raw mark. I go to an above average school and the standard cohort will always get 2-max 3 early 90+'s raw in their trial. but we've NEVER had a band 6. Closest was aprox 86-87 as their hsc mark

there are a lot of people who underestimate their abilities and drop to standard. hence, im sure heaps of people get in the 90's raw. not just 64.

Yeah, a mark of 100/105 actually seems right....
After all you're aiming to be in the top 64 of the entire state. The best students would be getting close to full marks in all the sections.

The reason we don't know what the cutoff for Band 6 is is that so far BOS has only been releasing raw marks in response to individual requests for their own results. There's no-one on BOS who has gotten a Band 6 in Standard and then requested their raw marks for our benefit.

One could try FOI'ing BOS and asking explicitly... *hint hint*

...maybe your school just marks easy.
our school never gets 90+ in trials but we usually get 1 alot of times 2 band 6's in standard. we have very strong english teachers who mark very hard.

and our schools ~200

maybe, but they are cssa trials marked by teachers who do hsc marking. I agree though with the other person. aprox 100/105

I would do it but apparently it's too late?
Never to late. Under the Freedom of Information Act (I think that is the correct name) you can have access to anything which has information on you.

For you doing your HSC in 2010 it may take a while but you should be able to get it

Government Information (Public Access) Act, as it's now known. Doesn't matter that the BOS requesting service has closed, you have the right to apply for any records they continue to hold.

This is my aim, although I still can't accept that the raw mark is so high...

I'm going to take it up with the BoS when I have some free time.
