same reason people here used to have 10 kids
so they can work when they turn 8 and if 8 die then you have 2 to pass on your genes
its instinctive

western countries are generally educated enough to show some restraint and have 1 or 2 kids sometimes

they also dont have to living costs that we do. if they have 10 kids it just means more income, it doesnt mean they wont be able to afford a house etc they only live in a mud hut anyway
