Hello guys,

Im thinking of purchasing the board of studies workbooks ?? (Business studies and for English paper 1 and 2)

does anyone have them?? are they helpful and worth purchasing??

Wouldn't expect them to be any better than the ones you can get from textbooks.

actually they're not textbooks. just pile of sample answers/ guidelines/advice and etc from top scoring students who got band 5/6 last year....

i think it would be helpful ? kind off. meh i ordered 3 books anyway

will do. i got a sample page so far from my friend... its just stacks of high quality essays and extended responses from last year lol. very good to read

my teacher has the one for physics, it seems to be pretty good, but sometimes the band 6 answers go over the top

I read the paper 1 area of study book and wow..

some people are just beyond HSC level.. they got massive quantity and quality..

quantity is outrageous they are writing like 12 pages+ with small writing O.O....

One of the ones I read had a pretty decent 1st related but a pretty short 2nd related, so I dunno. + I thought it was a bit weird to integrate core with first related, then do the second related on its own...

oh my gosh you have to read the paper 1 area of study creative stories... you can see all the ridiculous quantity and quality you want LOL it really shocked me..

I though i was a quantity beast but when i saw the exemplary essays i felt inferior ..

they are shocking........

I almost cried because the stories were so good and touching... some of them are defs 20/20... no doubt...

they give you the high band 5 to low band 6 essays - never top band 6

ur better off with the study guides.. these are actually quite a waste of money

I had a look at some of them when I did HSC Standard English. They were quite useful. They show what is expected of a high quality essay. I do have a feeling though they are High band 5 essays and not Band 6.. I know plenty of people who can write better.
