Physics. Still don't know how to balance an equation :L

Rather like Mathematics. A game too.

There are 12 hydrogens on the LHS but 2 hydrogens on the RHS. So what can we multiple the hydrogens on the right to make them "balanced"?

We can multiple by 6.

But wait, look what the nasty 6 has done to our oxygens. We now have 10 oxygens plus another 6 oxygens, making 16.

But only on the LHS we have 2 oxygens, so we multiple by 8.

I get it! Kinda easy now...

You sir, would make a great teacher.

Just have to point this out, neither HSC courses are close to the real thing and both are watered down with some nice bs rote learning dotpoints on top

BUT.... HSC (and I stress "HSC") Chemistry is more logical and you will find the calculations are more challenging and more fun than Physics which is just plugging in numbers into an equation. There is also a bit of memorisation (i wouldnt call it rote learning as such) like chemical tests to identify particular ions etc

In HSC physics, while you have some really interesting concepts in topics like motors and generators and space, there's a lot of emphasis on the society and environment which kind of spoils the fun..

Saying all that, these are probably the best subjects to chose if u have an inclination towards science and maths

Well that really depends on which one you are more inclined to do well in. Personally I would do chemistry but maybe you are a more physics orientated person.

"chemistry is filled with moles anyway..."
BAHAHAHA....chem joke :p
Did you hear about the chemists that accidentally drank mercury?
We couldn't curium so we had to barium.

What do a neutrino and I have in common?
We're both constantly penetrating your mum! (lolz, favourite!)

Go go go go Physics! My heart will always belong to Mathematics though.

OP you should have made a poll. :)

EDIT: @kfnmpah lol ^_^ I love nerdy jokes.
Look, m8. If you're going to say 'ooh i love your jokes', at least give me some DAMN REP.

An infinite number of mathematicians enter a bar. The first one orders a pint, the second one a half pint, the third one a quarter pint… “I understand”, says the bartender - and pours two pints. *zing*

Guys!! Physics!!! Physics have strings, M theory is the ultimate theory of the universe!!! String theory is better than moles come on.

Year 11 killed my love of physics that once existed. I'm hoping year 12 will restore it. I liked chemistry a lot better - physics is much more content heavy.
