I'm hoping that would be enough to get an E4, but I haven't done any other papers, so I don't know if 2009 paper was a lot easier than the other ones -- what HSC mark do you reckon I'd get?

I don't have the data on the 2009 exam so I won't even take a guess of a mark but I'm pretty sure that will get you an E4. However, compared to some Ext 1 papers from the early 2000's I think there has been a slight shift up in difficulty in more recent years. The tipping point was the 2006 Ext 1 paper which was definitely the hardest 3U/Ext 1 exam released since the leaving certificate began. In reaction to that, the 2007 paper was as soft as a pillow, while 2008 through to 2010 seem to have shifted up in difficulty (although obviously not to the extent of the 2006 paper). I would expect this trend to continue this year but we'll have to wait and see. Out of interest, what where your marks for each of the 7 questions.

Best Regards
