Is there final ranks for the HSC with your cohort???? (1 Viewer)

Sorry for the burden once again.

Do they have a final rank with your cohort (who performs best overall in hsc+internal) or the internal rankings is the final between your cohort???? Im just curious ..

I thought the schools get sent your scaled mark, HSC mark, the average of this, and hence, your rank?

Yeppers.
Our DUX is the highest ATAR and then all over 90 get an award and top 5 get their picture on the wall near study hall.
I'm going to be on that fucking wall!!!

Lol, our school (previous years) would put the picture of the top 3, then names or mini pictures of those who got 90 + on a huge poster and it would be in front of the school, where everyone would just stare and turn their faces into monkies using markers! [slack]. However, the last time they put up a poster was in '09 when we got 2 state ranks, so yeah - it was just them up there to show off lol.

That would be done by the school if at all. It's not something BOS reports to students or anything.

Lol. That's really upsetting.

Yeah, they used to have a shitty poster thingy in the office but last year there were 20 over 90s so they put the top 6 in nice photo frames near study hall, but the guy that came 4th went missing. Lol

Our DUX just gives a speech. I never wanted to be DUX because I would embarrass myself doing the speech.

Same i wanted to finish school quickly and move onto uni... Although uni seems like hell during time seeing tutors and etc suffering from all the torment.

Personally the social parts were good but HSC IS SO CEEBS!!

At my school anybody who gets a high mark (which is usually only one person) gets their name put in the sign thingy out the front. You know, "Congratulations Blah- Atar 97.9" or something ludicrously along those lines

And then the Dux gets their name engraved on the plaque of people who are Dux. And that is it D:

Apparently, they want to 'publish' anybodies name who gets over 90 at my school. We had to sign a release form so they could. I don't know where they are 'publishing' these names but it was a little odd.
