Okay so this questions must have been posted so many times but the search function is broken and i remain lazy, so what's about the average raw mark /120 needed for an e4. So far i'm averaging about 90 in past papers

75ish/120. your looking at more like 94 if you are getting 90/120 in past papers.

59/120 would have gotten you 83 last year.

So an E3 would be around: 52-55/120

This is scaled.

Yes, it does matter. A scaled mark of 71 - 80 is an E3, as you pointed out. However a raw of say 76 is an E4 (usually a scaled mark of 90).

If 59/120 = 83 how does 52 = 70ish? wouldn't it be more?

no i was saying that 52-55/120 would get you 80.

if you want 70 you need 40-43/120.

shows just how hard 4U is. you get 5/6th of the paper correct and you still come in the top 150 of the state.
