They would not ask you the worst, trust me. Prepare with what you have and already know.

Don't complicate things. The HSC is meant to be reasonable (specifically paper 1)

It's also targetted at the bottom students of the state, so just remain calm. Nothing needs to be over-complicated.

"A sense of belonging can emerge from the connections made with people, places, groups, communities and the larger world. Aspects of belonging include the potential of the individual to enrich or challenge a community or group. They may reflect the way attitudes to belonging are modified over time".

Demonstrate how your prescribed text and ONE other related text of your own choosing represent this interpretation of belonging.

but it's so long and you'd have to write so much just to answer the whole question =_=

I think there are worse questions out there, I might go through some past papers to see what's bad.

And these are the only two that i would have a lot of difficulty answering:

1. Membership of any group requires obedience. Rules and conventions are the cornerstone of acceptance.
   What is the relationship between belonging and rules? In your answer refer to your prescribed text and two texts of your own choosing.
2. Attitudes towards belonging change over time. How have the texts you have studied explored shifting attitudes towards belonging? (ETA 2009 Trial)

Now these questions up there are hard questions that you won't be able to do with a memorized response, and even then, those who haven't had a memorized response would still have difficulty answering those questions =_=

just remember they have to cater for the very, very LOW students. also, the question has to match ALL the prescribed texts equally and allow for students individual point of view to shine through...
with that being said. who knows what the bos can throw at us. just look at the curveball thrown in the 2009 sor paper -.-
but just remember: hard question = less good marks. less good marks = lower cut off for a band 5/6 etc.

Lol yeh, agreed there, but I don't think they will give us a question that is too unfriendly.

How many related texts are you doing for your belonging essay, 1 or 2, and if so are you memorising for both cases?

same here, in fact some prescribed texts don't really have any quotes about being an individual... unless if I'm wrong. (I don't seem to find any in migrant hostel or 10 mary street T_T)

Yeh, identity is always a bit of a trek to adapt essays too, but it can be done if you establish it thoroughly in your thesis and change your quotes around in the body

But i have 1 backup also.

Im not memorising fully. Best way is to practice through P-E-E-L in my opinion, just know your text well then you don't have to care what question they ask!

Trials i was worried that my essay didn't fit in but i don't think the teacher realised lol so she just gave me the mark

When I get stressed about English in my break, I look at the english sample answers. They don't have much content that I can learn from , but the band 1/2/3 answers make me laugh (and make me feel better) and the band 5/6 ones show me that with a good structure and good examples anyone can get a good mark goodluck everyone! Try ur hardest it's all u can do

but on the other hand, memorizing all those peels are going to be so damn difficult, considering I suck at memorizing T_T
